Touch In Sol || WINTER KBEAUTY EDIT || #RivetReview

I've got this love/hate relationship with KBeauty. I find that it focuses its skincare culture on white and poreless skin, while in the West, tanned skin is considered beautiful and dark skin still needs pride movements to show that it's beautiful. I'm kind of sick to death of these ideals, and being a pale, olive skinned person, my skin colour isn't always catered to by Western brands (or if they are, they're too pink), and so, KBeauty is something I sometimes go for when it comes to finding colours with neutral to yellow undertones, and innovative formulas that make my skin glow!

Touch In Sol is a brand available in Australia that isn't tested on animals, and it's a brand whose BB creams have worked for me. I proclaimed my love for In The Skin Renovation BB Cream last year, and yes, I still love it, but there are plenty of other products that I have tried and loved. Here are some!

#RivetEmpties Week - SKINCARE - January to April Empties!

Welcome back to #RivetEmpties week!

Day 1

Over a period of a few months, anything between 3 and 6, I collect all the products I use up in that period (or products that go rancid) and do a theme week to show what I have managed to use up! This week will only have four posts, as I'm not really purging anything, so we'll start off with our week's favourite, SKINCARE!

Touch In Sol IN THE SKIN RENOVATION BB Cream - #RivetReview

I'm not sure whether the market was just saturated with Western ideas of KBeauty, with most of the big players offering some kind of product, and many of the cruelty free brands not doing it very well, that it took until KBeauty brands became mainstream amongst Westerners to actually find a BB Cream that I REALLY LIKE!

Touch In Sol has been mentioned many times on my blog, but it is now going to be the star of the show.

Winter Goth - Beauty & Fashion Essentials

The weather is cooling down and we rejoice. I am staying indoors more often, but it's a relief that I can sleep with a blanket on and not wake up in a pool of sweat. This is also the time of year where I get more pain and fatigue, but it takes nothing out of my dark heart.

Rivet Licker's Winter Goth Beauty & Fashion Essentials

It's already May, and the heat waves seem to have finally died down, so it's on with the jackets and the deep leafy browns. Surely, I am not into Steampunk subculture, so I don't own any brown clothing, however, my face WILL wear shades of brown. Black is still a major player, but with the cool winds upon us, there are many cosmetic changes that need to be made.

Summer Goth - Beauty & Fashion Essentials

Whoever said we needed to brood indoors when the temperature rises along with the UV index? I'm your stock standard alternative, black clad and existential goth girl (with a sun allergy - extra goth points for the Vampire hiss), but the outdoor world doesn't scare me; or at least areas in the shade don't! As some of you may already know, and a heads up for those that don't, I have an intolerance to sunlight (and other forms of UV emitting light sources) caused by having Lupus. I also lost pigmentation and the ability to tan (a far cry from the little olive brown kid I was). Surely enough, the goth lifestyle was my destiny - I used to express myself more when I was active in the scene, but I tend to keep things very casual these days.

Bright hair, black clothes, skin that looks darker than it really is.

I have curated a list of essential items to survive summer as a goth!

Travel Essentials: Rivet's packed her bags and gone to Melbourne!

If you are reading this between 28th September - 4th October 2016, I am currently away in Melbourne. I don't get to travel often, so when it is time to pack items to take for a stay away from the precious collection of dozens of beauty products, I'm generally useless. Here are the products I have managed to bring with me on this 6 day “I need to get out of Sydney for a few days, but not too many, because I'll miss my dog too much” getaway.

Reason 1 for visiting Melbourne.

Reason 2 for visiting Melbourne.
Melbourne is home to some of my family and many friends, including Simon Proietto of The Skincare Obsessive, my BFF in blogging and life.
