Antipodes is a good friend here at Rivet Licker. The natural and effective beauty products from the New Zealand brand have been keeping my skin soft and smooth for just over two years.
Being an Aussie, the festive holidays fall in summer. I was offered the opportunity to trial and create my own edit of Antipodes products to keep my skin in top notch this summer.

Juliet Skin-Brightening Gel Cleanser – $36.00AUD
I chose this cleanser because I know that my skin changes in summer. It requires a much deeper cleanse from all the sweat and dirt that builds up. I'll be honest, I really don't like my freckles because I think they make me look too young, so I am always on the hunt for skin brightening products to help reduce the intensity of my freckles.
This cleanser looks like a fruit puree, a brown-red colour, and has a fruity green apple fragrance. The gel foams up as it contains gentle surfactants. There is 200mL of product in a dark coloured plastic bottle. Recommended use is morning and evening, I have been using it to cleanse my skin in the evening.
Key Ingredients
Manuka Honey – anti-microbial and soothing
Vinanza Grape & Kiwi – antioxidant complex
Kiwi Seed Oil – high in essential fatty acids
Thoughts?
This cleanser states that it is suited to oily types, and I am not usually in that demographic, however, the heat and humidity this summer has been unbearable, thus my skin has taken on a slightly more oily characteristic. I find this cleanser to be gentle, yet not stripping. Also really love the fragrance, but must remember to not try and eat it!

Hosanna H2O Intensive Skin-Plumping Serum – $54.00AUD
I chose this serum because I spend a lot of time in air conditioning, and being at university over summer is great because the rooms are cool and the labs are even colder. The dry air is so dehydrating, it's almost as bad as in the winter!
This serum is a orange-pink kind of colour and watery in texture with a rose and cardamom fragrance. There is 30mL of product in a dark glass bottle with a dropper. Recommended use is morning and evening after cleansing and before moisturiser.
Key Ingredients
Vinanza Grape – antioxidant complex
Waiwera Artesian Water – mineral rich volcanic spring water
Mamaku Black Fern – New Zealand native plant extract*
*Could not find any scientific data to support beneficial claims
Thoughts?
I have been applying this serum after my active Vitamin C (AM) and AHA (PM), right before my moisturiser. It dries down very quickly, but once locked in with moisturiser and a facial oil, it leaves my skin glowing.
.
Kiwi Seed Oil Lip Conditioner – $21.00AUD
My lips are just dry most of the time. After hearing some great reviews of this product, I had to try it. What's not to love about a lip conditioner in a beautiful lipstick tube that has a kiwifruit fragrance?
This product is recommended to be used as a primer before applying your favourite lipstick, or as a lip treatment at any time of the day. I like to apply it at night, before bed.
Key Ingredients
Kiwi Seed Oil – high in essential fatty acids
Avocado Oil – rich emollient
Beeswax – protects lips
Thoughts?
I regret not trying this earlier. Everything about it is beautiful, even down to the sleek packaging. It melts onto lips with a slightly oily texture, but also prevents my lips from drying out; however I feel that it would have been better if it had the waxy ingredients higher up in the list.

I'm a huge fan of Antipodes hon - their skin care has so many things going for it, and their lipstick formula is one of the best on the market. Actually Hosanna is my favourite serum of all time! xxx
ReplyDeleteI'm using the Skin Plumping Serum and loving it. I discovered it via a Priceline Skincare Gift Bag!
