iUNIK Centella Calming Gel Cream || Style Story KBeauty Edit || #RivetReview

I seem to be getting back into KBeauty again. More cruelty free brands are emerging from South Korea, and are becoming more and more accessible to Aussies.

Product + Claims

Centella Calming Gel Cream is designed to calm and soothe skin that is prone to pimples and redness associated with acne and inflammation. While it doesn't state that it can be used by all skin types, it definitely seems suitable.

Key Ingredients

Centella
(Centella asiatica, sometimes known as 'Cica') is a well known calming ingredient in KBeauty, but hasn't managed to catch on as popularly with Western Trends as only very few brands offer it. I am familiar with this ingredient because of my beauty therapy training and its role in wound care.

This product contains a whopping 70% Centella asiatica Leaf Water and 10% Tea Tree Leaf Water. This combination offers the soothing properties of Centella, and the antimicrobial and healing properties of Tea Tree. Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) also aids in diminishing and preventing hyperpigmentation and redness associated with breakouts. Allantoin offers its skin calming properties to the formula.

Physical Properties + Packaging

The product is a translucent gel whose texture that feels cold on when applied to the skin. It has a very clean and minimal aroma. The packaging is a standard tube with 60mL of product. The outer packaging consists of a simple cardboard box with detailed instructions and ingredients in English.

How To Use

Apply to clean skin and allow to absorb. I like to use it before moisturiser or sunscreen. If you have oily skin, it can probably be used on its own, but for dry and dehydrated conditions, it is best to use a moisturiser or facial oil.

Thoughts?

I absolutely adore the texture and feeling of this product. It's really soothing to use after my shower. I have found that it sometimes pills up if I use too much, but it's generally not an issue after I have applied further product. I think everybody should have some kind of Centella product in their arsenal.
