SpaScriptions Has Landed in Australia! || #RivetReview

SpaScriptions is the latest brand to launch in Big W stores all over Australia.

The US based brand sought to enter the market to feed the gap between budget and luxe skincare, but still offer high quality formulas with active ingredients, at drugstore prices.

.

In August, SpaScriptions held its launch party at Marie France Group in Walsh Bay, where myself and my blogger friends got to discover the range for ourselves.

I have been very unwell lately, so going out (and writing things for my blog, apparently) haven't been my top priorities, so getting out to see all my friends and have a drink was a really nice thing!

SpaScriptions

Global Beauty Care, a New York City based skincare company, developed the range to target specific skin concerns, harnessing active and natural ingredients, and mostly, its ease of being incorporated into any skincare routine!

SpaScriptions has a sophisticated aesthetic, aimed at creating a spa experience in the comfort of your own home, with all products being under $20AUD!

Thoughts?

I took home a beautiful gift bag with products from each category to try out including the 3 pack of Gel Masks (Anti-Aging, Moisturizing, Pore Refining), a tube of Metallic Wash Off Mask in Age Defying, Hydrogel Face Mask in Brightening, Hydrogel Eye Mask in Collagen, and the Facial Cleansing Power Brush. During the event, I also managed to try out some of the eye masks in Cucumber, and took home the rest of the open pack.

4. Rivet showing off after treatment with her hands up and the green eye masks on the ends of her fingers.

I also managed to purchase some nicely discounted products at Beauty Expo from Chem Corp's professional beauty subsidiary, Salon Concepts, and took home the 3 pack of Gel Masks (Rose, Gold, Cucumber), plus the Glitter Mask from So Fresh, So Clean (Instagram post).

Overall. I think there's just way too much packaging. The amount of plastic in the Hydrogel masks, particularly the lip and eye masks, is absurd. These are single use products, but end up with so much plastic packaging around them (see above picture). Fortunately, the outer packaging is cardboard and is recyclable. I am uncertain about the packaging of the jars.

The products... I have managed to try out the 3 pack of Gel Masks in the goodie bag, the Cucumber Hydrogel Eye Masks, and a Brightening Hydrogel Face Mask.

The Gel Masks are actually really lovely. I had an initial reaction to the Pore Minimizing mask, but that kinda dissipated as I kept using it. My favourite is the Moisturizing mask, and I like to use it with my stone roller as it is cold and soothing. I often mix and match the masks with the Pore Minimizing mask for my chin and nose, and the rest of my face with either of the other two.

The Hydrogel Eye Masks in Cucumber are actually amazing! I really love how my under eyes felt during, and looked, after use. I have really bad dark circles, but was experiencing more than the regular amount of puffiness before using these, and it definitely made a visible difference in hydration.

I found the Hydrogel Face Mask to be very annoying! It slid off my face and some of the serum got too close to my eyes (cue crying). I think I need to use this one while lying down!

These are solely my opinions of the products I have used from the range as I have not yet tried all of the products, but am looking forward to trying the Metallic Wash-Off Mask, plus the other three Gel Masks I purchased.
